Yvon L. Renotte got his PhD degree at the State University of Liège, Belgium, where he taught Optics, Photonics and Laser Physics for more then 30 years. He mainly taught to the students of Physics, Chemistry and Engineering Sciences. He was the promoter of more than 20 PhD theses in Belgium, France and Canada. He was often invited as a member of PhD jury in many countries (France, Canada, England, Ireland and different African countries). In the same time he droved researches dealing with various topics of the Photographic Process in cooperation with the Photographic society Agfa-Gevaert (Antwerpen, Belgium). He was the leader of many research programs on the recording materials for Holography (silver halides, dichromated gelatines, photopolymers, mixed photopolymers – LCD, non-linear materials, …), in Optical Metrology (Holographic Interferometry, Speckle Interferometry, Shearography, Optical Moiré Technique, …), about the conception, computing, building and testing of Holographic / Diffractive Optical Elements, computer generated or not, and guided mode filters. He also works in Plasmon Surface Resonance Spectroscopy to qualify optical materials. He was consulting manager of spin-off societies producing 3D scanners for various fields of applications as different as Archaeology, Mechanics, Siderurgy, Medical science (Dermatology, Cosmetology, …). He has retired some years ago and he is now Senior Consultant Manager to the HOLOLAB where he manages 3D scanning (and other laser application) projects for local government. He is a member of the SPIE, OSA and ICO. He was the president of the Belgian Commission for Optics. He represents Belgium in the French Optical Society.
