Pascal Blain is an engineer from the ENSPS (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Physique de Strasbourg, France) with a specialization in analysis and image processing. He also received in 2007 a complementary Research Master’s degree in Photonics, Automation, Robotics and Images with a specialization in computer vision from the Strasbourg University. He made his graduation project study at the LRS (Ponts et Chaussées de Strasbourg). The project’s aim was the metrological application of shearography to bridge crack’s surveillance. He is now working on a project as a R&D engineer in optical metrology, especially shape and surface characterization under an industrial context. As a PhD student since 2009, he is working on the development of an in line interferometer using Birefringent crystals and/or Liquid Crystal Polymers.
